Fruit of the Week: Lemons


Lemons did not start off as the fruits we use for cooking purposes today but instead it was used as an antidote for medicinal purposes. We just started using Lemons for their flavor since the 17th century. The acide from the lemon can be used to tenderize meats. Lemon can be added to liquor or made into a preserve.
